ALMATY, April 19 (Xinhua) -- Kazakhstan Fashion Week (KFW) Fall/ Winter 2012 opened in the southern capital Almaty on Thursday.
Designers from Kazakhstan, Germany, the United Arab Emirates, France, Britain, Lebanon and Georgia will be taking part in the three-day event this year.
"As the only fashion-scale project aimed at promoting the Kazakh fashion, KFW opens up new opportunities for all who are interested in fashion and style," said a statement posted on the official website of the event.
KFW's history began in 2003, when it was first called Almaty Fashion Week. It was later officially renamed to Kazakhstan Fashion Week and became popular among Asian and European designers.
